Amalfi Coast
The Mario Valentino collection inspired by the Amalfi Coast reflects the elegance and sunny seduction of the Mediterranean, a ‘cameo’ of belonging for the famous Campania-based company, for accessories that evoke the essence of the Amalfi Coast with a collection designed and produced with a focus on bright colours and natural materials.
It has always been one of the most fascinating and iconic places in Italy, located along the southern coast of the Sorrento Peninsula, and has become a UNESCO World Heritage Site thanks to its unique combination of natural beauty, characterised by picturesque villages perched on cliffs, lush terraced hills and unspoilt nature.
In the collection, the real protagonists are the cheerful colours of the majolica, the colours of the sea, the lights and nature that capture the essence of this magical land.
The collection proposes the Coast in a minimalist key: light uppers, very feminine, very fine straps used not only as a purely functional element but become a touch of décor, creating cage-effect cut-out sandals like those in the KARA line, inspired by the geometric motifs of majolica domes, while VALERIE focuses on essential straps with customised metal details.
The FRIDA line tells of the sea; shells become small glamorous golden accessories to embellish minimal uppers.
LILY is the most romantic line, inspired by the floral world. Three-dimensional petals bloom on the uppers in bright, cheerful colours, perfect for Ceremony Season but also to revive the usual jeans. MEGAN plays with transparencies and geometries for a light look with a naked effect. LUCY takes its cue from the pin-up girls of the 1950s, who made peep toes a symbol of feminine sensuality. With soft and harmonious lines, the opening on the toes allows a glimpse of the enamel, making the closed shoe more sexy and captivating.
To enrich the preciousness of the collection, Mario Valentino presents, for the new season, two lines of bags with an iconic allure and fruit of the brand’s craftsmanship know-how. A selection of representative models with a contemporary design, crafted in fine leathers and embellished with logoed metal accessories or embroideries of the historic MV logo in sticks.
