Odessa Fashion Week & Odessa Fashion Awards 2021

From 26 to 28 November, the 17th season of Odessa Fashion Week, with the generous support of the Ukrainian Fashion Association, took place in the Luxury Hotel Bristol*****. The new season started for the first time with the Odessa Fashion Awards ceremony for the best representatives of Odessa fashion industry.

On 26 November 2021, the creative public of Odessa and its guests walked the red carpet, and the Ukrainian Fashion Association determined the best among the best. Among the nominees were designers of clothes, shoes, and accessories, jewellery brands, models and model agencies, fashion bloggers, stylists and make-up artists, fashion photographers, and videographers. In this difficult time, the organizers together with the Ukrainian Fashion Association decided to support fashion industry professionals and celebrate the achievements of the best in their field. Talented Odessans were awarded prizes in various categories for their professional and creative achievements, and a special award was given for a significant contribution to the development of the fashion industry in the Odessa region.

The main categories of the Prizes were: popularization of fashion industry professions; consolidation and unification of the fashion community; assistance in the development of the fashion industry in Odessa region and in Ukraine as a whole; and promotion of Odessan designers (brands) and other representatives of the fashion industry in Ukraine and in the world.

“The award helps to identify the professional contribution to the development of the fashion industry in the Odessa region and motivates new achievements in creativity. Participation in the Award process provides an opportunity to demonstrate your achievements to the audience all over Ukraine, to receive recognition from colleagues, as well as to form a positive attitude towards the brand among your own and potential new clients,” declares the organizer of Odessa Fashion Week, Zarina Semenyuk, @zarina.semenyuk.

The traditional Grand Opening Odessa Fashion Week took place on 27 November 2021, and fashion designers from all over Ukraine presented their collections, including Natalia Pototskaya, Akel, By Vel, Elena Bilyk, By Iren & Elite Fashion Models School, Kapsamun Kids, Richmond & Main People, Nuelve&Amazonka Models, Kvk, Yulana, Linn By Kids &Kolibri models, Kendi, LC Waikiki, Panna Couture, Iryna Kudryashova, Anna Stetskaya, Odessa School of Design, Professional College № 3 / Model Studio “Style”, Kharkov College of Textile and Design, Exclusive & Institute of Modern Madame, M. O.L Concept, Marina Vladi and Kira Tan. The musical guests were Gurskiy& Zakharova, Edgar & Emma, Rina Ri, A.R.T.E.A.N.A., MARU, Sofia Kuznetsova, and Maxim Akel.

On 28 November 2021, the first Digital Fashion Day took place, where the designers Soniamonina, Postushna, Framiore, Mimicry clothing, non.Lbs, MelmanaTomiLana and #3D_fashion_space presented their virtual 3D collections and sustainable fashion collections live on TV channel Odessa Fashion.

The event was held with the support of media partners: Ukrainian Fashion magazine, Fashion TV, Fashion Star, and Odessa Fashion TV, as well as partners of the backstage zone – Simchenko Makeup School and Odessa Center of Vocational Education SSZ.

Despite the difficult sanitary conditions making it anything but easy for the organizers to bring about a full-size and well-presented, highly motivating event, this year’s Odessa Fashion Show turned out again a great success and hailed by visitors, participants, designers, collaborators, and partners as a most eloquent representation of both budding and confirmed Odessan creativity in fashion, accessories and beyond.
